My favorite book is North of Beautiful. I like it because it gives good details and you really get to know and care about the main character. I like to read fiction books because I can relate to them the best. I just finished the book Darkest Hour by Lauren Brooke. In the book, Amy struggles to keep together her family business together once her mother dies in a car crash. Amy, her grandfather, and boyfriend, Ty, the stable hand, run a farm where damaged horses are taught to trust again. Unfortunately, one horse becomes sick with the flu and Amy’s job becomes much more difficult. She and Ty must keep the flu from spreading to the other horses, but it doesn’t work. By the end of the week, five horses are sick and the stable is closed to clients for at least three weeks. The small business continues to struggle with money and Amy has even more to deal with. Then, when Amy’s feeling the worst, a tornado hits the farm. Horses are left outside in attempt to keep the flu from spreading to the well horses. But once Amy sees the damage done to the barn, it’s almost too much for her to bear. A branch has fallen on the barn, and the horses are trapped inside. Amy and Ty go inside to get the horses out, but the barn collapses and Ty is stuck inside. When the ambulance arrives, Ty’s taken to the hospital and Amy doesn’t know what to do. Her family business is falling apart, the barn is ruined, horses and killed, and most of all, her boyfriend is in a coma. The thing that hurts the most is that he may not come out of it. In the end of the book, Ty still hasn’t come out of the coma, however, Amy’s realized that she needs Ty more than she realized. The theme of the book is to hold onto things while you still have them.
